I am looking for friends from around the world so that I can learn new things about how people live their lives.
I love to read and write. My other interests include a broad range of subjects and ideas. I read a lot about history and pre-history, science, science fiction, mystery,technology and computers, genealogy, gardening, self help, religion as well as health and medciine.
I enjoy watching movies of all kind but really enjoy action, science fiction and tv dramas a lot. I watch the SciFi Channel, USA, TNT, History Channel and History International Channel. I also watch the networks here in the USA.
I am retireddisabled and live alone. I was divorced in 1976 and my ex-wife died in 2001. We had no children together. I have never remarried even though I have dated since then. I should say that i am not in search of a wife. If I find one along the way, that would merely be a bonus.
I live in a rural area because I had to get back out of the large city after being hit in the head for the third time while working. I moved back to where I was born and grew up in the country. It is great to be out away from the hustle and bustle of the large city and to experience the quiet and solitude of the small community in which I lvie.
I am an honest and caring person. If a person cannot be honest, then that person can never truly be a close friend of mine. It is the honor of a person that attracts me to that person. If I am not honest with anohter person, then I am not expressing the person that I am and I never want to present myself as anything different from what I am.
I would enjoy meeting people from around the world for cultural exchanges as well as details about everyday life. I am not a person who has very much money, but my life is probably better off than most people on this planet. I really cannot compate myself to anyone from a far away planet. I just do not have any experience with any of them.
I am semi-active. I have days during which I do not feel like doing anything. This is due to my health and the hot weather that we are experiencing this year. I do raise my own garden even though this years vegetables are not as great as last years. My garden tiller was out of commission until late July which prevented me from properly taking care of my garden.
I no longer own a car or drive. This is partially due to my eyesight which fluctuates from bad to worse. These conditions are all a result of my diabetes that was brought on by the stress experineced from the blows to the head ten years ago. However, I can say that my heart is strong and it is one thing that gives me no problems.
